AFAIK, WindowsXP is the most stable operating system nowadays. Vista is okay, more on visuals but lesser than performance. plus, it's a memory hog. 2GB is fine, but it still be recommending a 4GB RAM running on your system to acquire the smoothness.

yung ibang mga gamers, kaya nag Vista dahil hinahabol nila yung DirectX10 for the "Eye Candy" thing on their gaming. regardless if its a 32bit or 64bit. I'm also a Hardcore gamer but still won't risk my common applications that will not run on Vista for the sake of the little additional eye candy on my gaming.

Traditional Preferences:

Linux = servers, hardcore programmers, and hackers
MAC = Multimedia such as Video/Graphics editing
Windows = can do all above

yup, wala kasing backdoor ang Linux, para kasi yang DOS. pero in hacking, you need a reliable internet connection also.
